I was recently contacted by Brian Coulson,
about some pictures of the GEM of Egypt that he had access to. Brian
had one of the notebooks from the collection of his friend Dale
Davis. This particular notebook was full of pictures and
press clippings about the gem. Brian said that Dale
had given me permission to use the pictures here, provided
that his name appeared on them. Since it's my policy to give the
contributors credit for any pictures that are sent in anyway, we made
plans to meet.
Brian brought me the pictures about 3 weeks ago,
and I scanned some of them to use here. I would have liked to have
scanned all of them, but that would have taken 10 or 12 hours, and
Brian didn't have that much time .
I've separated the pictures into two groups, the
GEM being built, and the GEM being scrapped.
